Steve Brannon has a comprehensive understanding and in-depth knowledge of current trends and best practices in the benefits and compensations fields and an extensive understanding of ERISA, related laws and regulations. He provides a wealth of knowledge in the design, implementation and management of large retirement and health plans with a special emphasis on Taft-Hartley benefit trusts.
Steve is an asset to any organization that is involved in collective bargaining. He is an experienced resource for developing creative strategies for collective bargaining or plan design. In addition to his creative abilities in highly leveraged negotiating environments, he also has strong actuarial technical skills. He has served as a trusted advisor to boards of Trustees of numerous benefit plans.
Steve has served as the Senior Vice President & Actuary for The Segal Company in San Francisco where he was integral to the development and design of dozens of Taft-Hartley health and pension plans. He also served as member of Segal’s President’s Multi-employer Leadership Group where he helped shape strategic direction and best practices in the multi-employer market.
As Vice President & Actuary for Western Benefit Plan Consultants/Noble Lowndes in San Francisco, Steve negotiated coverage, services and costs with carriers to ensure clients were optimizing their employee benefit resources.
Steve is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Fellow with the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled actuary. He received is BA in mathematics from Pomona college in Claremont CA. and his MS from California State University, Los Angeles.
